2 spikes have been made.

So you will need to rep row 8-15: 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) more times.
Fasten off. Leave a long tail (approx. 2 times the length of the spike piece) for sewing the spikes onto the hood.

Finishing:

Fold the spike piece in half. Using removable stitch markers or safty pins attach the spike piece centered onto hood and poncho. The center of spike piece will be on the top center of hood and both ends will be aligned together. Now you can sew the spike piece with darning needle and yarn tail left. Then you will need to sew along top of spikes (the red line in picture). You can use same yarn for the spike piece or you could use a contrast color for a different look.

sc = single crochet
scblo dec = scblo decrease = single crochet back loop only 2 together

Tail:
Using 3 3/8 in Pom-Pom maker and color M. Make a Pom-Pom.

Finishing:

Pinching the ears at the bottom by sewing the bottom of ear together (about 2 sts). Using stitch markers or safty pins to attach the ear onto place and sew on the ears (I put the ears between 3rd row and 4th row outer of the middle, and between 5th and 6th dc from front. Don’t sew the ear onto a single dc, or it won’t “stand up”). Attach the Pom-Pom in the middle lower back of poncho.
