Hood Top

With RS facing, rejoin yarn at right cable marker. Work in rows, turn after ch 2.
Row 1(RS): ch 2 (count as 1st dc), follow cable pattern, dc 1 in left cable marker stitch. (20 sts)

Row 2: ch 2 (count as 1st dc), follow cable pattern, dc 1.

Rep row 2 (work straight in pattern) until hood top measures approx.: 4.5 (4.75, 5.25, 5.75, 5.75) {6.75, 6.75, 6.75, 7.75} 8.75 inches.

Next row: ch 2 (count as 1st dc), *dc 2, dc dec, dc 2, rep from * to last st, dc in last. (17 sts)

Now hood top should measure the same length as hood side folded and meets even at hood front.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming the hood top.

Seam Hood Top

Turn hood piece inside out, fold the hood top down to meet each side of hood. Seam along both sides using whip stitch or method of your choice.

Front and Bottom Edging (Moss Stitch)

With RS facing, starting from the bottom of the right front, rejoin yarn. ch 1 (does not count as 1st sc), work sc 1, ch 1 in each row all the way up to the marker, r&p marker, work sc 1, ch 1 in each row to the hood top, “sc, [ch 1, sk 1, sc 1], rep[] 7 more time” in hood top stitches, work sc 1, ch 1 in each row down to the other marker, r&p marker, work sc 1, ch 1, in each row down to the bottom of left front. Work “sc 1, ch1, sc 1” in corner stitch. Work *ch 1, sk 1, sc 1, rep from * along bottom edge. Work “sc 1, ch1, sc 1” in corner stitch, ch 1, join with first sc with sl st.

Finishing

Weave in all ends.  

Gently blocking to approx. finished measurements.

Sew on the buttons, using the buttonholes along right front edge for placement.
