With 4 mm (US 6) knitting needle, cast on 120 (124, 128) {132,144, 156} (use scrap yarn and provisional cast on method), join to begin working in the round. Place a marker to mark the beginning of round.

Waistband:

Slip marker as you get to it.
Round 1: *K 2, P 2, rep from * around.
Round 2: rep round 1.
Round 3 (make a hole in this row for threading the elastic): K 1, K2tog, YO twice, SKP, K 1, P 2, *K 2, P 2, rep from * around.
Round 4: K 2, (K 1, P 1) in double YO, K 2, P 2, *K 2, P 2, rep from * around.
Rep round 1 until waistband measures from cast on edge approx. 3 inches.

Work a fold-hem hem.

When you’re ready to make the hem, fold up the cast-on edge to align with the working stitches. The wrong sides of the fabric should be facing each other, and the cast-on edge should always go behind the working stitches.
Pull out the provisional cast-on, picking up the live stitches with a spare needle.
Holding the working needle and spare needle parallel to each other, knit 1 stitch from the front (working) needle together with 1 stitch from the back (spare) needle.
Repeat to end of round.

Bloomer: switch to 4.5 mm (US 7) knitting needle

Knit each round until piece measures approx 7 (7.5, 8) {8.5, 9.5, 11} inches from top of bloomer.

Leg Opening: with 4 mm (US 6) knitting needle

[K 2, P 2] 12 (12, 13) {13, 15, 17} times, K 2, P 1, cast on 1 st (back loop method) {right leg}, slip next 9 (11, 9) {11, 9, 7} on a stitch holder/scrap piece of yarn {front crotch}, slip next 51 (51,55) {55, 63, 71} on another stitch holder/scrap piece of yarn {left leg}, slip next 9 (11, 9) {11, 9, 7} on the third stitch holder/scrap piece of yarn {back crotch}.
The hole for threading the elastic will be located on the right back waistband.

52 (52, 56) {56, 64, 72} each leg
9 (11, 9) {11, 9, 7} middle for front/back crotch

Right Leg:
Work the stitches for right leg in rounds.
Round 1: rep [K 2, P 2] around.
Rep round 1: 6 more times.
Bind off in rib.

52 (52, 56) {56, 64, 72} sts.

Left Leg:
slip next 51 (51,55) {55, 63, 71} from stitch holder/scrap piece of yarn, cast on 1 st (back loop method).
Work in rounds.
Round 1: rep [K 2, P 2] around.
Rep round 1: 6 more times.
Bind off in rib.

52 (52, 56) {56, 64, 72} sts.

Crotch:

Slip the front crotch stitches back to one end of circular knitting needle and back crotch stitches to the other end if you are using scrap piece of yarn.
Holding the stitch holders/needle ends parallel to each other, use a long piece yarn (approx 20” / 50 cm) and the Kitchener Stitch to graft the two sides together.

  1. Insert the needle through the first stitch on the front needle as if to purl. Pull the yarn through, leaving a end that you will weave in later. Leave the stitch on the needle.
  2. Insert the needle through the first stitch on the back needle as if to knit. Pull the yarn through. Leave the stitch on the needle.
  3. Insert the needle through the first stitch on the front needle as if to knit. Pull the yarn through. Drop the stitch from the needle.
  4. Insert the needle through the first stitch on the front needle as if to purl. Pull the yarn through. Leave the stitch on the needle.
  5. Insert the needle through the first stitch on the back needle as if to purl. Pull the yarn through. Drop the stitch from the needle.
  6. Insert the needle through the first stitch on the back needle as if to knit. Pull the yarn through. Leave the stitch on the needle.

Rep 3-6 until all stitches have been worked. Adjust the tension of stitch every few stitches. Make sure not to pull too tight.

You will find two holds on each end of crotch seaming.  Sew to close.

Bunny Tail

Make 1 yarn pom-pom with a diameter about 2 ½” (6.5 cm) and attach it center back approx. 2” below ribbing.

Finishing

Weave in all ends.
Using a bodkin or safety pin, thread the elastic through the waistband.
Overlap the ends by 1” and sew to secure.
Gently blocking to approx. finished measurements.

Enjoy!
