Hat

With 4.0 mm (US 6) knitting needle, co 66 (72, 78, 84, 90) sts, continue work in rounds. Place a marker to mark the beginning of round.

1x 1 rib:

Round 1: *K 1, P 1, rep from * around.
Rep round 1: 5 (7, 7, 9, 9) more times.

Switch to 4.5mm (US 7) knitting needle

Work stockinette stitch until hat measures from cast on edge approx. 3.5 (4.25, 5, 6, 6.25) inches.

Crown Shaping

Decrease round 1: *K 9 (10, 11, 12, 13), K2tog, rep from * around.
Decrease round 2: *K 8 (9, 10, 11, 12), K2tog, rep from * around.
Decrease round 3: *K 7 (8, 9, 10, 11), K2tog, rep from * around.

Continue decreasing in this manner (*knit 1 stitch less than previous round, K2tog) until you have 12 stitches on your needles.

Thread the yarn tail through the remain stitches, pull the yarn tight, and secure the yarn.
